Classy. Classic. Contemporary.

Continuing to plug along on details for my brother's wedding... The bride emailed just one piece of inspiration, and it didn't take long to get the entire wedding planned! Damask. So classic. So classy. It will be punched up with hot pink and more contemporary with stark white and black.

Corporate Executive Dinner

Being from the south, I...let's just say...have a pretty big pet peeve about guests not responding to invitations with an response requested. Don't people understand that it is a HUGE inconvenience for planners to plan without a number? This is me getting of my soapbox:.. :)

Since all of humanity seems to have forgotten the polite rules of responding to events...maybe they need a little polite nudging with wording like this? This invitation to a corporate dinner has used the wording..."private and exclusive dinner" and "Seating is reserved and limited. Please respond by October 1."

Wonder why brides and/or the bridal industry hasn't caught on to this way of wording? I guess everything is very Emily Post. Must be proper. Must be polite. Must be Martha. So, if the bride must be these things...why won't guest be these things...and just respond? Happy RSVP collecting!

When a Wedding Shower Falls on Gamedays

In the south, SEC football is king, and people don't show up to events (other than football games) if it's on a Saturday. Sad, but true. I've been planning a couples shower and the only dates the couple had free leading up to their wedding landed on Saturday's.

So, we're embracing football with a football inspired theme! The bride and groom are University of Kentucky fans. Naturally, the theme is blue and white. These vintage inspired ticket invitations were sent to each guest. Our invited couples got two tickets in the mail, which were perforated and contained information to let the guys know the game would be on television. :)

I'll post more about the shower after the event. We'll be keeping it fun, but classy!

Classic Black + White with a Splash of Pink

First, let me say congratulations to by little brother! He's recently engaged and the planning has already begun. The happy couple has chosen a classic black + white + pink color pallet. The bride sent me an invitation she liked and it set the entire idea for the reception. Damask. So classic. So classy. And it will be easy to incorporate into all aspects of the wedding. Check out the inspiration board I put together for them. More to come as the wedding approaches.
